Shaun Sopovski, Accountant

Shaun joined the WMC Accounting graduate talent pool in January 2020, after completing his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting and finance with Deakin University. Shaun has now completed all internal key performance indicators to progress to position of Accountant, in addition to commencing study for his post-graduate CPA qualification and is certified in both Xero and Intuit. He has previous experience in the accounting sphere, having completed an internship with a boutique accounting firm, and a tailored income tax course, which culminated in a 3-month contract, processing individual tax returns during the 2019 tax season. His personable character complements the WMC Accounting vision of providing a knowledgeable, committed, and passionate helping hand to individuals and businesses alike. 

Since joining WMC Accounting, Shaun has been exposed to the preparation of quarterly business activity statements, annual financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals. Shaun is proficient in liaising with clients, both remotely and face-to-face and can be trusted as first point of call to attend to your BAS, Taxable Payment Annual Reports and STP finalisations.

Shaun primarily works under the guidance of Senior Accountant Brendan Veitch and has major clients in the building & construction, transport and agriculture industries. Shaun has a keen eye for detail, and can introduce efficiencies to accounting software, particularly the cloud accounting suite of software.
